Artist residencies are one of the ways SAFIR supports the young artists in its community. Through its network of mentors, ambassadors and partner organisations, SAFIR helps connect artists with residency opportunities abroad, giving them time, space and context to develop new work and to meet artists and curators outside their immediate surroundings.
Residencies form part of SAFIR’s wider capacity building work, alongside the Safir Artist Program, the SAFIR workshops and the mentorship offered by SAFIR Mentors and Contributors.
