Programs

SAFIR is the first program launched by Massyr, a newly established Non-Governmental Organization based in Lebanon that is working towards increasing the prominence of Middle Eastern Contemporary Art in the international art scene, through the creation of initiatives that help Middle Eastern artists develop their skills and connect with international artistic platforms.

SAFIR’s first initiative, the SAFIR Artist Program, aims to help contemporary artists improve their ability to access and communicate their art to wider audiences in the international art community by developing the artists capabilities, mainly in the areas of Thought Process, Expression and Outreach. Please visit our SAFIR Artist Program page for further details on the program and how to apply as an artist.

If you are interested in finding out how you can join the SAFIR Community as a mentor, please visit our SAFIR MENTORS page.

Another SAFIR Program, ARD or Art Research Digitization works to create an online archive of Syrian Contemporary Art and to make this information more accessible to the general public, art enthusiasts and educational institutions alike. SAFIR is in the process of collecting all forms of visual and written documentation such as videos, photos of artists and their artworks, writings and articles related to Syrian Contemporary Art to make them available on its ARD Page.

SAFIR also works to support to build the capabilities of university students and fresh graduates internationally by providing a number of telecommute internship opportunities that can be done from anywhere in the world. Interns benefit by gaining practical work experience in the NGO Sector in the areas of Arts and Culture. Please visit our Internships page to view our current vacancies.
