Middle Eastern Artists under the age of 40 can apply to SAFIR to receive support in the form of mentorship and guidance in personal capacity building & accessing International exhibiting opportunities or Artist Residencies.
Artists working in different artistic mediums such as video and digital media, performance art, photography, installation, mixed media, painting, sculpture, & drawing are welcome to apply.
As per the artist’s needs, mentorship is provided to develop three main skill sets: Thought Process, Expression, and Outreach. As such applicants receive support from an experienced mentor in the art scene to work on developing several aspects including: developing the thought process for a new body of work, getting support and feedback to better communicate and explain their work to wider audiences and develop a personal narrative, and finally support in accessing International Artist Residencies and International exhibiting opportunities. SAFIR Artists also benefit by being invited to attend workshops that are related to developing these main skill sets.
Being a social initiative, SAFIR members are part of a community who not only receive support from SAFIR, but also give back by mentoring other young artists or by assisting in supporting SAFIR’s work.
If you are an ambitious and hardworking Artist or Curator that is eager to develop your own skills in addition to supporting the development of other budding Artists on your journey towards becoming successful internationally, then we encourage you to apply to SAFIR’s program by downloading and completing our Taarof Form below and then emailing it to: firstname.lastname@example.org,
